Poppy Appeal Spring Boost
Howard Fairman, the Royal British Legion County Manager seen here (right of picture) at the Royal British Legion Blandford Head-Quarters; was very grateful and quite surprised to be presented with an un-seasonal cheque for £742 from the Wessex Group.
The Wessex Group of companies contributed half of the proceeds from their company Xmas raffle draw as well as the proceeds of a staff mixed football competion to the Poppy Appeal. The other half was distributed to the national prostrate cancer charity.
Alan Davies, the Wessex Group’s chairperson for their Sports and Social Committee seen here presenting the cheque commented; “We have always prided ourselves on supporting worthy causes and The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal works ‘all year’ to support millions who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces providing financial, social and emotional support. We are very pleased to support their great work in our community.”
