An apprenticeship in Electrical Installation will equip you with the necessary skills and technical expertise to start a career in this field. On completion of the programme you will become a JIB graded electrician.
Course Content
As part of this 4 year course you will spend time studying electrical modules and theory in the skills centre with the remainder of time being spent gaining practical on-the job training and work placement.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will also obtain a City and Guilds Certificate.
Assessment is through continuous assignments, internal and external exams and practical assessments both in the workshop and on site.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You should have achieved English and Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
An apprenticeship in security allows you to specialise in security systems, access control, closed circuit television or fire alarm and emergency lighting, and on completion of the programme you will become a recognised security installer in your chosen field.
Course Content
This 3 year programme is comprised of theory-based study at the skills centre to learn new practical skills and to undertake a City and Guilds Technical Certificate in Security Systems. This is combined with gaining practical work experience with the industry.
Assessment is through internal and external examinations along with course assignments and practical work undertaken both in the workshop and on-site.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You should have achieved English, Maths & Science GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
This building services engineering based course covers many skills but is predominantly focussed on the provision of the essential services that allow buildings to operate - such as the heating and ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

You must be able to travel to Southampton City College
This plumbing course covers the installation of plumbing systems, how to maintain them and how to decommission systems in a safe and secure manner. As part of the NVQ Level 2 framework, you will have the opportunity to gain an introduction to the Plumbing trade by working towards the achievement of the City and Guilds Certificate in Plumbing.

During this two year course you will gain practical experience in the workplace and gather evidence to demonstrate competance in:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You must be aged between 16-24 years old and ideaaly have a minimum of English, Math & Science GCSE grade C (or equivalent) all this is not essential.
