St. Ann’s Hospital is a 118 bedded acute inpatient unit set in a prestigious area of Sandbanks serving the needs of people with severe and enduring mental illness across East Dorset. The building is a grade 2 listed building with numerous blocks where Wessex Building Services have worked over the past several years.
Works carried out included new heating, domestic services, ventilation, fire protection, intruder alarms, lighting and power either emanating from new plant rooms or from existing plant from within the grade 2 listed building.
Due to the complexity of the 24 hour services offered by this hospital to its special patients work had to be carried out under strict supervision in phases during in hours and out of hours to the agreement and satisfaction of the NHS.
There are ongoing works for a complete new energy centre including external mains and these are in the process of being designed.
